Nigori no Kamizenjosui Junmai Ginjo, released by Shirotaki Shuzo on December 1, 2022, is made from rice polished to 55% and fermented slowly at a low temperature, then roughly strained to produce nigori sake. It is a winter-only product with a gorgeous aroma, creamy texture, and rich flavor.
When the bottle is tilted, the rice components called “ori,” which settle at the bottom, dance like snow, giving the bottle a winter-like appearance. When poured into a sake cup, it has a sweet aroma reminiscent of cotton candy or honey. The finish is creamy and mellow, thanks to the rice components that have been left in abundance. After that, the sweet aroma completely changes to a rich, yet crisp and dry taste. It has a clean aftertaste with no cloying taste, so you will never get tired of drinking it.
It complements winter delicacies such as oden and anko-nabe. Like nigori sake, it goes well with tomato cream pasta and crab cream croquettes, which have a creamy texture.
This product is available only during the winter season and will be discontinued as soon as the stock runs out.
