One fruit per tree. The king of fruits, the “Shizuoka Crown Melon,” is the star of this parfait.

2024.03.10

For a limited time only, “Hakone Gora Karakyu” will begin offering the “Accommodation Plan with Seasonal Parfait Plan “, which allows you to taste the taste of spring. How about finishing your dinner course with a crown melon in soft spring-like colors reminiscent of fresh greenery to feel the arrival of spring?

Shizuoka Crown Melon

Fuji, which was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2013. Fukuroi City, located in the western part of Shizuoka Prefecture, is the production area for crown melons. This area has a mild climate and long hours of sunshine, so the crown melons grow in the full sunlight.

The reason for the deliciousness of crown melons: "one tree, one fruit."

The crown melon produces only three fruits per tree. Only when only one of the best fruit is carefully selected and all the nutrients of the tree are poured into one fruit is the crown melon born, which is crowned with the highest name among muskmelons, the king of fruits.

The grown crown melons are checked for appearance, content, and sugar content by an appointed inspector, and only those that pass this rigorous inspection are shipped to the market.

Commitment to special desserts by our resident patissier

The meltingly soft and sublimely fragrant crown melon is complemented with orange and blueberry jam, which further enhances the melon’s mellow aroma and the freshness of its flesh. The fruity parfait is accented with matcha meringue.
