[Hoshinoya Karuizawa] Wellness Program for rest and relaxation to keep up with the drastic changes of spring

2024.01.11

Hoshinoya Karuizawa in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, will offer the “Karuizawa Yurikan Zushi” wellness program from March 20 to April 26, 2024, to provide rest and relaxation to tone the body and mind against the violent changes of spring.

Relax the body under tension.

■”Shiatsu massage” to loosen tension stiffened by daily life

Upon arrival, a nationally certified Anma Shiatsu massage therapist, who is exclusive to Hoshinoya Karuizawa, will provide treatment in order to relax the body that has become stiff due to problems that are difficult to notice on one’s own.
Relax muscles throughout the body that are tense due to unnatural postures and habits in daily life.

■”Yuragi-Hito’s Japanese Breakfast” is gentle to the stomach and relaxes the body and mind.
We will prepare a special breakfast that is gentle to the gastrointestinal tract and relaxes the body and mind. This breakfast includes a rich meal of fermented foods (*1) that help regulate the intestinal environment, and hot tofu that warms both body and soul.

Leads to good sleep

■”Deep Breathing Bath Method,” a hot spring bathing method that puts the body and mind into a state of sleep.
In the “Meditation Bath,” a hot spring bath exclusively for Hoshinoya Karuizawa guests, the “Deep Breathing Bath Method,” a stretch that relaxes muscles throughout the body and leads to a good night’s sleep, is performed. This bathing method involves taking deep breaths, twisting the waist wide open, and stretching from the waist to the thighs.

■”Valley cherry blossom hot pot” that warms the body from the inside out
Dinner will be served in a “valley cherry blossom hot pot” using horse meat, a lean meat rich in vitamins, protein, and iron. Horse meat is high in vitamin B12, which not only warms the body but also relieves stress and is said to promote good sleep.

Do as one pleases

After the cold weather, spring in Karuizawa is a season of rich natural changes. You can enjoy a walk in the unique landscape of Hoshinoya Karuizawa while feeling the buds of kobushi (Japanese pines) and larch, or sit back in a chair in the village and enjoy reading a book. Please spend your time as you wish in your guest room or in the village, looking for the small buds of spring in the village, and be mindful of the signs of spring.
