From Monday, 1st December 2025, we shall commence serving ‘Kuzumochi: A Winter Comparison of Elegance – Yuzu Fragrance’ at the eat-in area of Funabashiya Kameido Tenjin-mae Main Store. This limited-edition menu features our ‘Original Kuzumochi’, made using a fermentation method passed down since the Edo period, enhanced with a winter-appropriate aroma and flavour.

Kuzumochi: A Winter Sensory Experience – Yuzu Fragrance This seasonal limited-edition dish combines Funabashiya’s renowned kuzumochi with the winter fragrance of yuzu.
The kuzumochi boasts a uniquely chewy texture, achieved by fermenting wheat starch with lactic acid bacteria over 450 days. While typically served with black sugar syrup and kinako (roasted soybean flour), this special edition features aromatic matcha kinako made with Uji matcha and black sugar syrup, finished with a sprinkling of yellow yuzu peel.
The refreshing zest of yuzu complements the kuzumochi’s simple flavour, while the nutty aroma of matcha creates an elegant taste experience.
