Mint Can Japan Co., Ltd. will launch its ‘Premium Chinsuko Biscuit Tin’, a fusion of skilled craftsmanship, traditional artistry and community welfare, from Friday 6th March.
Elevating Traditional “Hospitality Sweets” to Artistic Excellence
We have redefined Okinawa’s traditional “chinsuko” biscuits, dating back to the Ryukyu Kingdom era, not merely as souvenir confectionery but as “premium gifts” combining high artistic merit and quality. The concept is “Okinawan Tradition × Excitement”.
Bingata designs by artist Yuka Aragaki
Ms Aragaki, who breathes new life into traditional Bingata techniques, has created designs tailored to each of the three distinct flavours.
Three flavours to delight the senses: Plain, Golden Sesame, and Salted.
We have achieved a level of quality that sets us apart from conventional souvenir confectionery.
Kugani Can (Plain)
The large hibiscus flower symbolises Okinawa’s intense sun and vitality. The golden background represents “kugani” itself, signifying “something precious and radiant”.
Herb and Flower Can (Golden Sesame Flavour)
Intricate floral designs rendered in deep green.
A highly artistic creation that breathes new life into tradition.
Sea Turtle Tins (Salted)
Featuring motifs of sea turtles, believed to bring happiness, and the beautiful waves of Okinawa. A refreshing and soothing design.
Even after your travels, bring the colours of Okinawa into your room. This striking tin can be displayed as interior décor long after the contents are finished.
Use it to store your favourite small items, or simply let it sit there, reminding you of Okinawa’s “thrill” in those fleeting moments.
