‘Ubusuna no Sato TOMIMOTO’ is a guesthouse that has been renovated from the birthplace of Kenkichi Tomimoto—Japan’s first Living National Treasure, who laid the foundations for modern Japanese ceramics—whilst preserving the original wooden structure and the landscape featuring the moat surrounding the house. In this place, which Tomimoto called ‘Ubusuna’ (his local deity) and regarded as his spiritual home, guests can experience the timeless history of Yamato—including Hōryū-ji Temple and the Taishi Road—as well as the changing seasons of nature. There are only two types of guest room: ‘Nisshin’ and ‘Chikurin Getsuyo’. Limited to just two groups per day, the luxurious design ensures a private space, allowing guests to enjoy a peaceful stay.
