Hasegawa has been based in Paris since he left Japan in 1918, and has been highly acclaimed at the Parisian art gallery as a member of Salon d’Automne and the French Painters and Print Artists Association.
He has been awarded the Order of Culture in France and the Order of the Sacred Treasure in Japan.
The Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts held an exhibition of this print artist in 2018.
Based on this exhibition, this exhibition will display works from the earliest works to copperplate prints of the 1970s in chronological order, as well as works by related artists, and will consist of approximately 165 works.
In addition, as many illustration pages as possible will be exhibited for the French translation of “Taketori Monogatari,” which is a masterpiece of illustration books.
Related events include lectures, print experience events that even children can participate in, promenade concerts, and gallery talks by the curator in charge.
In addition, we will distribute appreciation worksheets for elementary and junior high school students.
