Edo Tokyo Akari Exhibition produced by Akari Japan

2020.01.23

Until Sunday, February 9, 2020, “Edo Tokyo Akari Exhibition produced by Akari Japan Expo” will be held at the Kanda Myojin Cultural Exchange Center “EDOCCO STUDIO” (Todai-Kanda, Chiyoda-ku). About 40 creators from all over Japan gather. Five genres such as “art”, “festival”, “design”, “artisan” and “technology” will be united through “Akari” and create a new world in the historical Kanda Myojin area.

The biggest feature of this exhibition, which is described as “art-based attractions,” is that it is an interactive art exhibition that combines attraction elements with art exhibits. In addition to appreciating art works, you can advance the story developed by the cast of the guide and guests by throwing them at the art work, and the “ending of the story” will change depending on the guest’s choice, so you can see it You can enjoy a variety of works and effects.

In addition, theatrical guide staff will guide guests into the world of attractions as a storyteller. In addition, one of the features is that “analog interactive” experience is possible, such as “Aomori Nebuta” and analog sculptures in response to guest throwing.

Guests who enter the world of a different world encounter a young Kira Uenosuke and go through a mysterious light space where youkai and other monsters crowd. At the end of the game, Kira, who has turned into an ogre, is waiting for you, and what is the world seen by the guests who face it??

Underground of Kanda Myojin

Emitting beautiful light in a dim underground is the work of the art group “MIRRORBOWLER” that creates spatial works of light and reflection. By changing your eyes and watching, a mysterious world of light whose appearance changes dramatically welcomes guests at the entrance.

Gate of another world

The door to the world of a different world that is not part of this world is expressed in artworks. The neon light tells the beginning of the specter story that will be waiting for you.

Hyakki-yakou

A world of nightlife that depicts the beauty of darkness and light by various artists.

Corridor of darkness and doubt

When you go to the corridor with the cute youkai Kokeshi, the actor who invites you to the climax awaits.

During the decision

The anger of Kira Uenosuke is expressed in Nebuta, one of the traditional Japanese festivals. The story comes to an end, and guests who face Kira, who has turned from anger to a demon, are forced to make a serious decision! There is one and only work that preserves tradition while incorporating various sound and light effects. Also note that Nebuta’s voice is handled by voice actor Akio Otsuka.

Ukiyo's superb view

The noise of Hyakki nightlife and the ghost of Kira is settled, and the world of lights spreads out quietly and beautifully around.
