Immersing yourself in the world of Ukiyo-e, an immersive experiential digital art museum, “Ukiyo-e in Motion: Ukiyo-e in Motion TOKYO” is now being held.

Ukiyo-e in Motion Exhibition TOKYO” ranked No. 1 in Let’s Enjoy Tokyo Museums & Art Events ranking. (as of February 25, 2025) This exhibition will be held at the Terada Warehouse G1 Building until Monday, March 31, 2025.

Based on more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku and Utagawa Kunisada, the “Ukiyo-e in Motion” exhibition uses 3DCG animation and projection mapping to create graphic digital art works that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. It is an immersive digital art museum where visitors can experience the world of ukiyo-e through nine three-dimensional visual spaces.

So far, the exhibition has been held in Nagoya, Milan, Italy and Kagoshima and has been visited by over 150,000 people.

Photography and video are allowed throughout the exhibition, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the fantastic world of ukiyo-e.

We hope you will enjoy this limited-time, immersive exhibition that dynamically moves many of the masterpieces of ukiyo-e that have continued to fascinate the world throughout the ages.

* We recommend that you visit on a weekday or in the first half of the exhibition period, as crowds are expected on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and at the end of the exhibition period. Please note that you may be asked to wait for admission during busy times.

Special Exhibition “Daikakuji Temple, Former Saga Gosho – New Currents: Paintings Related to the Gosho” will be held at night to commemorate the 1,150th anniversary of the temple’s founding.

[KYUKAMURA OHMI-HACHIMAN]Tour of Lake Biwa’s famous landmarks ‘Enjoying “Biwa Ichi” by bus – around Lake Biwa’ tour.

The resort hotel ‘KYUKAMURA OHMI-HACHIMAN’, located on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, in Omi Hachiman City, known for its Omi merchants and Azuchi Castle, is inviting participants to join the ‘Biwaichi’ bus tour, which immerses them in the historical romance of Shiga Prefecture, which has flourished as a key transport hub since ancient times, close to Kyoto and Nara.
