《Planned for 10 years after the earthquake / Fukushima City》 “Hanamiyama” to enjoy at home

2021.03.13

It has been 10 years since the earthquake. In Fukushima City, we would like to express our gratitude for the support we have received so far, and we will deliver the “beautiful spring” that Fukushima citizens are proud of to everyone in Japan.

《Beautiful flowers of Hanamiyama to your home》

In Fukushima City, we have been taking steps to restore the peaceful life before the earthquake with the support of many people. With the milestone of 10 years, we want people all over the country to know about “the present of Fukushima”, so we can ship the flower branches of “Hanamiyama”, one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan, as a hometown tax refund. It is now possible.

Many of you may be surprised to hear that you can get flowers that are famous for cherry blossom viewing, which is visited by 200,000 people every year.

In fact, it is not well known that “Hanamiyama (Hanamiyama Park)” is a privately owned mountain that runs a flower farm, that is, a “field”. Ichiro Abe, the second owner of Hanamiyama Park, and his father, Ise Jiro, decided to stop sericulture and make a living as a flower farmer at the beginning of the Showa era, and invested themselves in the clearing of thickets. Is the origin of the birth of “Hanamiyama Park”.

The number of people visiting the mountain landscape, where colorful flowers and trees are in full bloom, has increased year by year, but Ichiro Abe said, “It’s a waste to see the beauty of natural flowers alone. I want to do it, “and opened the mountain for free.
Discovered by photographer Shotaro Akiyama and praised as “there is Taoyuan Township in Fukushima”, it became famous and became one of the best tourist attractions visited by many people from all over the country.

Anyone can enjoy walking around Hanamiyama for free, but since the sales destination of “Hanamiyama no Hana” is fixed, the number of people who can get it locally is limited, so it is rare to see it at a flower shop. There is none.

However, this time, with the cooperation of the Abe family who want to help Fukushima City, we will deliver it directly to the general public through the flowering trees that color Hanamiyama and the hometown tax payment to Fukushima City.

《A chance to get to know Fukushima's “now”. Delivered with the wishes of the producer》

The characteristic of Hanamiyama’s flowers and trees is the variety. There are about 70 kinds of flowers such as cherry blossoms, hanamomo, forsythia, and bokeh.

This time, from Sakura (varieties entrusted), Forsythia, Cornus, Peach, etc., it seems that they will incorporate as many colors as possible, such as pink and yellow, so that you can imagine Hanamiyama with a combination of 2 to 3 kinds of flowers and trees.

We will deliver it with Mr. Abe’s thought, “I want you to love the flowers of Hanamiyama at home and think about Fukushima. I also want you to get to know Fukushima.”

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
