[Kai Nagato]Spring-only cherry blossom viewing stay to enjoy the rows of cherry trees along the Otoshin River, ‘Spring Ranman Stay’.

2025.02.03

From 25 March to 6 April 2025, Kai Nagato Onsen Ryokan is offering a “Spring Stay” to enjoy the murmur of the Onshin River, which heralds the arrival of spring, and the cherry blossoms. In spring, the rows of cherry blossom trees along the Onshin River, which flows in front of Kai Nagato, are in full bloom, adding colour to the hot spring resort. This plan allows you to enjoy the rows of cherry blossom trees, which have attracted many tourists to the area, to your heart’s content. This plan offers guests a special seat on the Kawadoko Terrace before dinner so that they can enjoy the cherry blossoms at any time during their stay.

‘Night Cherry Blossom Apero’, enjoyed from a special seat on the river terrace.

The Yozakura Apero is prepared in a specially reserved area on the riverbed terrace, where you can relax and enjoy a moment before dinner while admiring the cherry blossoms. Using fugu (blowfish), a speciality of Yamaguchi Prefecture, three spring-inspired snacks have been prepared.

Fugu cured ham, aromatic fried fish and cherry blossom rice cake with cloudberries and cream cheese are served in a hagiyaki bowl. The aperitif sake is a sake from a brewery in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, as it goes well with the light taste of fugu.

Enjoy spring food with a view of the cherry blossoms at night.

In the dining room, window seats will be available for guests to enjoy their meal while watching the cherry blossoms. The seats are decorated with cherry-patterned paper mats, cherry blossom-shaped chopstick holders and peach-coloured napkins, and guests can enjoy their meal while watching the cherry blossoms along the illuminated Onshin River.

Dinner is served as a spring kaiseki meal with cherry blossom lilies and salted cherry blossoms. The special kaiseki dish is ‘Kawarayaki of Beef and Seasonal Vegetables’, inspired by the local cuisine of Yamaguchi Prefecture, ‘Kawarayaki’. The juice of Yamaguchi Prefecture’s original citrus fruit, Yuzukichi, is used as a finishing touch, allowing guests to enjoy seasonal ingredients surrounded by a refreshing aroma.

Cherry blossom rooms and large baths where you can enjoy flower viewing at any time.

The rooms are decorated with peach-coloured cushions and bed runners to get you in the mood for viewing the cherry blossoms. When you open the sliding doors of the windows, the cherry blossoms along the Onshin River spread out before you, allowing you to have the cherry blossoms all to yourself in a private space.

Hanami Nodate sets are also provided so that guests can enjoy Hanami outdoors. In addition, cherry blossoms will be used to decorate the outdoor baths at the public baths during this period. This provides a luxurious experience of bathing in the onsen while admiring the cherry blossoms.
