Yaekatsu, a tonkatsu restaurant where you can enjoy island tofu pork soup set meals in the morning, freshly fried tonkatsu lunch in the afternoon, and craft beer and island sake in the evening, opened on Friday, 8 August 2025.
Yaekatsu's commitment
Yaekatsu’s tonkatsu is made from carefully marinated Okinawan pork, which gives it a tender texture.
The breading is made from breadcrumbs produced by Nakaya Breadcrumbs, a company in Musashikoyama, Tokyo, that specialises in tonkatsu breadcrumbs. The low-sugar breadcrumbs give the tonkatsu a light and crispy texture.
The meat is fried twice to preserve its flavour. Lard oil is used to enhance the aroma and richness, resulting in a crispy exterior and juicy interior.
The sauce is an original recipe that goes well with Okinawan pork. The natural sweetness and acidity of vegetables and fruits harmonise to create a mellow flavour without additives that brings out the deliciousness of the tonkatsu.
