“Family travel support plan” at an inn for renting a whole Kyomachiya

Kyomachiya no Yado Co., Ltd. will start the “Family Travel Support Plan” and the Kyoto Citizens Only Discount Campaign from September 7, 2020 (Reiwa 2). The hotel usually charges adults over 4 years old as a futon, but this time it is a special plan that can be used free of charge for children under elementary school age.
How about spending time with your family out of the water in an environment different from your home once in a while? Please spend your family time in a quaint Kyomachiya.

■ Implementation period
From Monday, September 7, 2020 to Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

■ Target facilities
> 22 buildings operated by our company

■ Target customers
1. Residents of 2 prefectures and 4 prefectures in Kansai (Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, Shiga).
2. If you live in Kyoto city, you can get an additional 4,000 yen discount by applying the “Local Support! Let’s Eat and Stay in Kyoto Campaign”. Since it is limited to 50 groups, if you live in Kyoto city, please check the campaign code by phone and make a reservation from our website.
* Campaign 2 is limited to 10 facilities designated by us.

■ Benefits
One child in the family is free of charge for one child under elementary school age.
* This plan is free for 2 or more adults, as many children as adults.
(For 2 adults, 2 children are free, 3 to 1 child will be charged)

■ Notes
* Since the facility has a capacity stipulated by the Inn Business Law, the upper limit of the plan application is the capacity.
* Please present (identification card (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.)) of all guests (adults only) who can confirm that they live in the area at the time of stay at check-in.
* Even if you stay for consecutive nights, the benefits will be applied until September 30th.

[ Kimuraya (department store)]Snowman’ is available only during the Christmas period. Japanese Stollen, made with traditional sake-type dough and Japanese ingredients, is on sale again this year.

December sees the arrival of a number of Christmas breads. The Snowman with his cute smiling face is a sweet loaf with two different flavours: pudding cream and chocolate cream. It is a heartwarming treat with flavours that both children and adults can enjoy.

Also back this year is the popular Japanese Stollen, which was a big hit last year. This is a special cake that can only be tasted at Kimuraya, using Japanese-inspired ingredients such as persimmons, figs and koshi-an (sweet bean paste). ZIPANGU Contemporary artists who have run through the Heisei era” Takashi Murakami x Sueo Mizuma dialogue: ‘Beyond the Theory of Artistic Entrepreneurship’ / Interview with Mr. Mizuma: ‘Rediscovering the Value of Japanese Culture by the Japanese People

The Hiroshima Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition “ZIPANGU: Contemporary Artists Who Defined the Heisei Era” (November 2, 2024 – December 22, 2024). This showcase brings together works by some of the most prominent figures in Japan’s contemporary art scene, including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Makoto Aida, Yoshitomo Nara, Chiharu Shiota, Izumi Kato, Akira Yamaguchi, and Miwa Komatsu. The exhibition has already garnered significant attention, exceeding 10,000 visitors.

HYAKKEI covered the dialogue between contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and Sueo Mizuma, the curator of this exhibition, held at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima. We also conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Mizuma.

The discussions centered on the aspirations behind the ZIPANGU exhibition and offered forward-looking insights, not only into Japan’s art world but also into the rediscovery of value within Japanese culture by its people.

Two types of autumn-only red seals, ‘Chrysanthemum and Tanzaku’ and ‘Autumn Leaves and Candles’, are now available at Daisho-in Temple, Miyajima, a World Heritage island.

Two types of paper seals made exclusively for autumn, ‘Chrysanthemum and Tanzaku’ and ‘Autumn Leaves and Candles’, have been available since Monday 9 September at Daisho-in Temple on the World Heritage island of Miyajima. Quantities are limited and will run out as soon as they are gone.
