Hakone Retreat reopens with brand design by artless

2020.11.21

The brand renewal of the resort hotel “Hakone Retreat” in Hakone has been reopened with the brand design by the branding agency artless, which is active globally together with the hotel consulting company Wen Chishin.

Hakone Retreat is located in Sengokuhara, Fuji Hakone Izu National Park, and is one of the best resort areas in Hakone surrounded by “Susuki Meadow”, numerous museums, and nature.

Surrounded by a vast forest that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city, the Hakone Retreat has two different accommodations, villa 1 / f (Wanbayev) and före (foret) (the “o” in “före” is Latin “o” with umlaut (¨)). You can enjoy various stays according to the purpose of the guest, such as a leisurely luxury stay and gathering in a small group. A place where you can discover yourself in a blink of an eye, breathing in the scenery of different nature every time you visit, such as the sprouting fresh green, the autumn leaves like an impression, and the winter with a faint white veil. is.

“Hakone retreat villa 1 / f” where you can spend a relaxing time in a completely independent villa style with open-air baths in all rooms, and “hakone retreat” where you can experience a communal experience in a simple modern space that makes you feel like a Scandinavian resort före “.

Located on Hakone’s lush 55,000 sqm grounds, hakone retreat offers two different accommodation experiences.

“Hakone retreat villa 1 / f” uses an elegant and prestigious typeface, and “hakone retreat”
In “före”, we are trying to build a unified brand image as “hakone retreat” by utilizing a common design code while expressing two different experiences, such as using a typeface that is conscious of modern architecture.

For printed matter, “villa” uses elegant blank paper, and “före” uses gray paper, and while creating contrast with each other, the key color sampled from the surrounding forest, green, is commonly used.

It expresses a sense of unity as a brand that weaves two experiences. The signage scattered around the site in the national park aims to design with a clear flow line while valuing harmony with nature.

Familiar friends and friends can rent a bicycle to visit the museum, have a conversation with freshly prepared food and wine from a wood burning oven, or enjoy a relaxing style of freshly baked bread and an original blend of coffee. You can relax and enjoy “small gathering” with your family or group.

In the hot spring building, you can reset your mind and body with the hot springs drawn from the Owakudani source overlooking the Hakone mountain range, enjoy freshly ground coffee in the guest room or lounge whenever you like, and Hakone is a different class than before. Enjoy your resort stay.
