Enjoy a Kogin-zashi experience at the Kogin-zashi Kamakura

At the hot spring inn “Kai Tsugaru” in Aomori Prefecture, which is located in Minamitsugaru and Owani, we will hold a kogin-zashi experience to enjoy at “Kogin-zashi”. The lanterns designed in the Tsugaru region’s traditional craft “Tsugaru Kogin-zashi” illuminate the kamakura installed in the “Tsugaru Shiki no Mizuba” where you can enjoy the seasonal atmosphere of Tsugaru, creating a fantastic space. To do. In a private kamakura, you can relax while enjoying kogin-zashi-patterned sweets and apple cocktails.

Point

1. Enjoy “seeing”
If you follow the “Kogin Lantern” designed by Kogin designer Iemasa Yamabata, you will reach a kamakura. Approximately 50 lanterns range from small to large, and each has a variety of Tsugaru kogin-zashi such as “Hanako (Tsugaru dialect and flowers)” and “Kogori (Tsugaru dialect and snow)”. Is given. You can enjoy the beautiful snow scene and the collaboration of the geometric pattern of Kogin.

Kogin Kamakura

We offer cute kogin-zashi chocolates made by a local pastry shop so that you can spend a relaxing time in a kamakura. We also offer hot cocktails using apples, which Aomori Prefecture boasts the highest production in Japan. There are also non-alcoholic cocktails that you can enjoy even if you are not good at drinking.

3. Enjoy “touching”

Kogin-zashi

In the kamakura, you can enjoy “Kogin-zashi” where Tsugaru Kogin-zashi is also a nerve weakening place. This is an original card game devised by the staff of KAI Tsugaru. Kogin-zashi is a sashiko technique that has been handed down in the Tsugaru region. Since the farmers’ kimono was limited to linen cloth, the women of the farmer used to fill the rough cloth with thread to prevent fraying and improve heat retention. At the hot spring inn “Kai Alps” in Omachi Onsen, Nagano Prefecture, we will hold a “Shinshu Kamakura Yukinko Experience” where you can return to your childhood and enjoy the unique lifestyle of Shinshu. Located at the foot of the Northern Alps, Omachi is one of the snowiest areas in Shinshu, and the wisdom of living in the harsh winter is rooted in it. In the KAI Alps, you can enjoy playing outside with the kamakura arranged along the ganki, dressed as “Yukinko”. You can experience the winter of Shinshu in a warm space where bamboo lanterns are lined up.

Point

1. “Yukinko’s outfit experience” that returns to your childhood with the outfit unique to a snowy country

Yukinko's attire experience

In Shinshu, where it is snowy and cold, I wore Mino and Hanten as snow and cold protection as a wisdom for living. In the KAI Alps, while feeling the culture of Shinshu, we will lend out the clothes of “Yukinko” so that you can return to your childhood and play. If you play to your heart’s content, you can enjoy playing in the snow while feeling nostalgic for the mysterious feeling of forgetting the cold. The sight of guests dressed as snowflakes enjoying the snow and the snow is a daily life in a snowy country.

2. “Preparing for winter outing” in the hearth
In the old Japanese house, there was a hearth as a place for family, relatives and friends to gather. In the hearth in the public space of the KAI Alps, the sound of burning firewood, the warmth of the fire, and the scent of steam rising from the kamado are flowing in a calm and relaxing time. During the winter, we offer traditional warming items “Shiruko” and “Azuki no Kairo”.
