Located on the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture, there is a park with a view of the sea, “Nagai Uminote Park Soleil Hill”.
From mid-July to mid-September, a total of about 200,000 sunflowers will bloom without interruption in various parts of the park.
“Sunflower Festa”, an event that matches the flowering time, will be held from July 15th (Fri) to September 19th (Mon / holiday), 2022.
"Sunflower" on Soleil Hill
The name of the park, soleil, means “sun” in French, and the bright sunflower fields, which are lit by the sun, are a symbol of the park and are crowded with many visitors every year.
In the park, a total of more than 20 types of sunflowers will bloom in sequence in each area such as the “entrance flower field,” “Soleil Garden,” and “circular flower field.”
The flowering time is staggered for each area so that you can enjoy the flowers for a long period of time, so you can enjoy the flowers until mid-September, mainly during the summer vacation.
"Sunflower Festa" held to coincide with the flowering of sunflowers
A limited-time menu based on the appearance of sunflowers is also available
This year, as the first collaboration project with the Yokosuka Museum of Art, we will also hold a “Sunflower Garden to Enjoy with Painting”.
In the garden where sunflowers bloom, you can enjoy nature and art by displaying a sunflower painting panel.
Collaboration with Yokosuka Museum of Art "Sunflower Garden to Enjoy with Painting"
Sunflower painting panels drawn by Yokosuka-related painter “Rokuro Taniuchi” and Western-style painter “Shozo Shimada” will be exhibited in the garden.
In early August, varieties based on the images of sunflowers drawn by Van Gogh, Monet, Matisse, etc. are scheduled to bloom.
You can enjoy the panels and flowers that introduce the paintings, such as “Van Gogh’s sunflower” reminiscent of the sun of Southern France and “Monet’s sunflower” which is double-flowered in lemon yellow.
