Nippon Kodo launches limited-edition incense and incense burner sets with a ‘Snake’ design, the Chinese zodiac sign for 2025.

2024.12.18

Ltd. has created the 2025 Oriental Zodiac Sign Incense Plate & Snake Incense Set, featuring next year’s zodiac sign, the Snake. And the Genemon Oriental Zodiac Incense Set Snake is now available in limited quantities.

In Japan, it is believed that ‘incense purifies and brings good things’. It is said that during the Heian period (794-1185), the time of the Tale of Genji, the custom of giving incense (ko) as a gift at the beginning of a new year began, with the wish for good fortune entrusted to the fragrance.

This time we have prepared a limited edition of products suitable for such gifts and for the ‘Kaorizome®’, the ritual of burning incense at the beginning of a new year.

The elegant incense sticks, incense plates and incense burners decorated with the Chinese zodiac signs will bring good fortune to the New Year.

What is Kaorizome®?

新年にお香をたくことで室内を清め、新たな気持ちで一年を始める習慣です。立ち上る香りと共に、和の心を感じながら清々しい新年をお迎えください。
