Ukiyo-e has received high praise from overseas. The ukiyo-e prints we see are made by applying paint to a number of “woodblocks” with excavated patterns, and then rubbing the paperblocks with paint on Japanese paper one by one. Nissha Printing Communications focuses not only on ukiyo-e as a finished product, but also on the high value of the elaborate “printing blocks” used in the process of creating ukiyo-e, and digitizes ukiyo-e and prints Initiatives have started. Using high-definition scanning technology, we can accurately convert the data of the unevenness of the woodblock sculpture and the degree of ink stain, and by combining advanced color management technology and digital printing technology, we reproduce the three-dimensional feeling and color on the plane as well as the real thing.
Nissha Printing Communications, Inc. and Takesasado these two Japan companys have agreed to cooperate in the development of products using ukiyo-e motifs. Nissha Printing Communications, which has high-quality printing technology, digitizes more than 100 Ukiyo-e woodblocks owned by Takesasado with a high-definition scanner, and jointly develops art works and interior products using the data.
Utilizing these ukiyo-e and woodblock digital data for design, we will sequentially develop products for art and interior use, and sell them to Ukiyo-e fans around the world. Please look forward to new products that express the charm of traditional Japanese art from various perspectives.
