In July 2025, Take-Tora will hold a workshop on making flower baskets from Tosa tiger-spotted bamboo at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. This is a rare opportunity to experience the beauty and craftsmanship of the rare tiger-spotted bamboo and feel the fascination of bamboo culture first-hand.
At the Expo site in July 2025, in addition to the display of bamboo trackers, sales of tiger bamboo products and demonstrations by bamboo craftsmen, a workshop will be held where visitors can experience the making of flower baskets using Tosa tiger bamboo, a rare bamboo that grows only in the Awa Valley, Susaki, Kochi Prefecture.
Experienced craftsmen from Taketora will provide direct instruction, and visitors will be able to touch the bamboo and feel its suppleness and the charm of the material.
This workshop is one of the initiatives to make more people aware of the fascinating qualities of bamboo. Through the international stage of the Expo, we hope that visitors will be able to experience first-hand the beauty of Tiger Bamboo, nurtured by Japanese nature and culture, and the careful craftsmanship of bamboo artisans, and feel the richness of “bamboo living” in everyday life.
