A new monthly cream puff is now available, offering a richly aromatic flavour that combines Okinawa’s classic Sanpin tea with chocolate

2026.11.06

From Tuesday 1 December 2026, ‘ESTINATE HOTEL Naha’ will be offering a limited-edition winter menu as part of its accommodation packages and at the hotel’s restaurant, ‘ESTINATE LOUNGE Naha’.

A winter-exclusive menu showcasing the charms of Okinawa’s ‘Sanpin Tea’ is now available

‘Sanpin Tea’ is a beloved ‘soul drink’ that forms part of everyday life in Okinawa. This ‘flower tea’, in which the fragrance of jasmine has been infused into the tea leaves, is characterised by its rich aroma, refreshing aftertaste and exquisite balance of sweetness and bitterness.

Last spring, ESTINATE HOTEL Naha introduced the ‘Sanpin Choux Ice’, a dessert designed to reveal a new side to Sanpin Tea, which proved a great success. This winter, that dessert has been further refined and returns as the ‘Sanpin Choux Chocolat’, a chocolate-based choux pastry. From varieties combining fruits such as strawberries and tangerines to those allowing you to savour the full flavour of chocolate, a different flavour will be available each month. In addition, a range of unique drinks made with Sanpin tea will also be available.

Through flavours unique to winter and the surprises created by unexpected combinations, we invite you to discover the new charms of Sanpin tea, a drink long cherished in Okinawa.

‘Sanpin Choux au Chocolat’ – 780 yen each

Introducing three new varieties of cream puffs, available on a monthly rotation: crispy, crunchy pastry made with Sanpin tea and chocolate, layered with custard containing Sanpin tea leaves and chocolate cream.

These cream puffs are characterised by their rich, aromatic flavour, created by the unexpected combination of Sanpin tea and chocolate. Each month features a different combination of mousses, seasonal fruits and toppings, and you can enjoy the varying flavours by drizzling the accompanying syrup over the top.

December: ‘Strawberry Sanpin Choux with Chocolate’

This dessert combines the flavours of Sanpin tea and chocolate with the sweet-and-sour taste of strawberries and the tartness of berry mousse, offering a taste experience that evolves with every bite. Drizzling generously with the accompanying Sanpin syrup further enhances the aroma and sweetness of the Sanpin tea.

Available from: Tuesday 1 December 2026 to Thursday 31 December 2026

January: ‘Tankansanpin Choux à la Chocolat’

This delicacy allows you to savour the harmony of the ingredients, as the refreshing tartness and sweetness of seasonal tankan oranges from Okinawa Prefecture and tankan mousse blend with the flavours of sanpin tea and chocolate. The tankan peel sprinkled over the biscuit choux adds a rich aroma and a hint of bitter sweetness. Leaf-shaped matcha chocolates, inspired by the image of ‘Okinawa, where greenery abounds even in winter’, add a splash of colour.

Available from: 1 January 2027 (Fri) to 31 January 2027 (Sun)

February: ‘Sanpin Chou-Chocolat – Packed with Chocolate’

A treat perfect for the Valentine’s season, featuring mousses and creams made with generous amounts of chocolate. Drizzle with the accompanying chocolate syrup to enjoy an even richer flavour. The rich aroma of Sanpin tea, which unfolds amidst the deep, rich flavour of the chocolate, adds depth to the taste.

Available from: 1 February 2027 (Mon) to 28 February 2027 (Sun)

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
