BAIKAL, which operates eight stores in Kyoto and Osaka starting with its Shimogamo main store, has released “Daikakuji Temple Limited: Tsuki Suikyo with Ryutoufune Branding,” which can only be purchased here and is the perfect souvenir of Kyoto.
Baikal of Confectionery was established in Shimogamo, Kyoto in 1955. With the support of local customers at a time when sweets using fresh cream and butter were not yet common, we have gradually opened stores around Kyoto City. This product is a dairy confectionary with a smooth milk cream filling made from Kyoto milk kneaded with butter, fresh cream, and condensed milk, wrapped in a soft dough.
The package is based on the image of “Kangetsu no Yuubei” (moon-watching evenings), which began when Emperor Saga floated his boat on Osawa Pond to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Moon with the nobility.
