“Udon making experience” You can enjoy the rural scenery of Musashino in the 1950s!

On Sunday, February 16, 2020, the “Farmhouse Udon Making” event will be held at the Showa Kinen Park, a state-run national park that spans Tachikawa and Akishima, Tokyo.

Komorebi no Sato, located in the National Showa Kinen Park, is a facility for the purpose of inheriting customs and traditions that had taken place in Musashino villages in the 1955s, and was relocated to old houses and fields.・ You can enjoy the rural scenery of the time, such as paddy fields, and various traditional experiences.

At the event “Udon noodle making at a farmhouse”, you can use the wheat grown in the field of “Komorebi no Sato” and handmade the udon with handmade flour milled with a traditional watermill or stone mill. Participants will also receive a flour from Komoriburi village after eating their own udon!

Showa Kinen Park is a national park established by the government as a part of the 50th anniversary of the reign of the Emperor Showa, and is a city park that represents Japan. Under the theme of “Green restoration and improvement of human nature”, the park was developed as a park with a large public space surrounded by rich greenery and cultural content.
The main facilities include a general information center, a flower green culture center, a rainbow pool, a Japanese garden, a bonsai garden, Minna no Hara, a children’s forest, a komorebi no sato, a flower garden, an undo plaza, and a waterfowl pond.
