Miffy café tokyo’ POP UP in Umeda, a café where you can feel and experience Miffy’s art along with food.
From 25 Oct (Fri) to 8 Dec (Sun), 2024, a pop-up shop for miffy café tokyo will be held in Umeda, Osaka.
Hoshinoya offers an extraordinary experience. Hoshinoya Karuizawa’s main dining room, Japanese Cuisine Kasuke, will offer a limited autumn menu of ‘Mountain Kaiseki’ from 1 September 2024. Mountain Kaiseki is a restorative meal featuring ingredients from the mountains and rivers. The autumn only menu offers a bespoke combination of Japanese cuisine and the autumn bounty of Shinshu, such as matsutake mushrooms and pine musk. Kaiseki cuisine can be enjoyed in a relaxed and informal setting while admiring the colourful autumn leaves outside the window.
This starter heralds the arrival of autumn in Shinshu. Shinshu salmon and nozawana greens are wrapped in brocade and arranged with caviar and glossy muscat. A combination of egg yolk vinegar, white vinegar and citrus oil (white wine and lemon) enhances the flavour of the ingredients.
Mountain and sea sashimi are elaborate versions of a dish unique to Nagano Prefecture, which is not bordered by the sea. Sea sashimi uses carefully selected seasonal fish that change daily, while mountain sashimi uses carp, a river fish for which Saku City in Nagano Prefecture is famous. Carp has also long been an essential fish for weddings and funerals in mountainous regions.
It is also known as ‘koikoku’, a local dish, but at Yama no Kaiseki it is served as sashimi to maximise its natural flavour as it is in its fresh state.
A dish to serve when you want to recommend sake to your guests, Karasumi Soba offers the unique autumnal taste of Shinshu. Steamed in sake, the matsutake mushrooms have a concentrated flavour and are served on a bed of soba noodles, refreshingly accompanied by vinegared oranges and grated daikon.
Autumn flowers and plants that grow on the Hoshinoya Karuizawa grounds are arranged around “Walnut Tofu” made with fragrant walnuts and “Chestnut Sake Honey Stew” that brings out the natural sweetness of chestnuts. The scenery of the autumn valley village outside the window comes to mind, and rich time slowly passes.
