“Okomori Green Tea Stay” to enjoy and refresh Japanese tea

2020.06.06

The hot spring inn “Hoshino Resort KAI Enshu” located in Shizuoka Prefecture, which is famous as a tea shop, offers “Okomori Green Tea Stay” where you can enjoy Japanese tea all day from check-in to check-out. In KAI ENZU, we have been offering hospitality using tea for a long time, but this time, we will newly prepare “Guest Room Green Tea Refresh Set” in the guest room, which is a private space. You can spend the time at a hot spring inn as if you were visiting a tea shop such as a tea farm or a tea dealer.

Catechin, a bitter and astringent ingredient contained in green tea, is said to have the effect of preventing influenza infection and enhancing immunity, and theanine, a umami ingredient, is said to have a relaxing effect. KAI ENZU is a hot spring inn with a tea plantation in the courtyard of the facility. For a long time, there is a bathing method using tea leaves, a tea incense burner where you can enjoy the scent of tea leaves, and a program that explains the charm of tea, “Ojiraku-Micharaku”. Etc. have been provided. I witnessed the violence of the virus, strengthened the hospitality that deepens my understanding of green tea, and came up with the idea that I would like to enjoy a wide range of famous tea just by staying at the inn.

Contents of the new guest room green tea refresh set

・Original leaflet where you can learn about green tea yourself
・Rental of a convenient filter-in bottle that allows you to experience the “green tea gargling” that attracts attention for infection prevention

List of teas you can enjoy during your stay

■Hospitality: “Local music-Beautiful music”

This is a program where you can learn about tea and tasting. We introduce the types of tea leaves and how to make them. Held daily at a dedicated counter with a small number of people. About 15 minutes each time.

Provided and used tea
Three to four types of tea appear every season. Of these, one or two kinds of tea were prepared, which were not easy to drink. Others use tea from the tea cellar.

■Hospitality: "Tea cellar" (in the travel library)

It is a place where you always have 12 types of green tea and Japanese black tea (13 types in the new tea season) collected from various places in Shizuoka prefecture. You can put the tea leaves you care about in a tea canister and bring them to your room to enjoy. Blending is also possible. It is located in a place overlooking the courtyard and has a good view.

■Hospitality: "Bathing tea Sansen"

A tea service for enjoying a comfortable bath. When you enter the hot spring, you lose a lot of water without realizing it, and the amount is said to be 800 ml in 15 minutes. We offer three types of tea for bathing, which is essential for hydration, so that you can drink it three times before, during, and after bathing.

Provided and used tea

“Kakeyucha” before bathing: light steamed Tenryu tea
“Toji tea” while bathing: Stick tea
“Finishing tea” after bathing: Hojicha

■Hospitality "Asacha"

It is said that if you drink tea in the morning, you will get lucky. Flowers and other flavors are prepared according to the season, so you can enjoy it with your favorite tea from the tea cellar.

Provided and used tea
Please use the tea from the tea cellar.

■Hospitality "Japanese-style room with living room for teahouse Enshu Tsumugi" (limited to 1 room only)

A Japanese-style room with twin beds and a tea shop counter where you can enjoy the charm of tea. There are three types of tea and tea utensils that match the three scenes of your stay when you arrive, before going to bed and after waking up.

Provided and used tea
Before arrival dinner: “Koushun” etc.
Before holidays: “Saekari” etc.

Other hospitality related to tea

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
