Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Museum held 364 paintings drawn by painters with domestic and foreign mouths and feet!

2020.05.05

Since 2012, the Association of Artists Drawing with Mouth and Feet has held an online painting exhibition “Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Museum” in order to let many people see the paintings of people with disabilities. In addition, we are pleased to announce the holding of the 8th online painting exhibition “SPORT & PEACE With Sports and Peace” in this spring.

■ About the Artist Association Drawing with Mouth and Feet

The Mouth and Feet Artist Association is a group of painters who use both hands and feet to draw. It started in Europe in 1956 and is now expanding into 72 countries and regions. It has been active in Japan from 1961 to 1959. Painters have been deprived of the important things for those who aspire to art for various reasons such as illness and accidents. However, I continue to draw with a brush on my mouth and legs to become independent.

■ About "Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Museum"

The online painting exhibition was started in 2012 so that many people can have a new opportunity to freely see the paintings of the painters who draw with their mouths and legs. Various themes such as paintings by painters active in Japan and overseas, original paintings of original goods drawn with mouth and feet, reproduction of exhibitions held in the past, paintings of contest held on the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the association I have introduced it to you.
This is the eighth time for the online painting exhibition this spring, and we are introducing paintings with the theme of an international sports event scheduled to be held this summer. The event has been postponed, but painters have been thinking about this big event and have been drawing pictures for several years, and made it with all their might. In addition, at the time of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the association, we will also introduce works drawn under the theme of “a picture of my peace”. We hope you will take this opportunity to see and feel the “courage to live” from the heartfelt works of the painters, and have an opportunity to interact with their paintings.

Due to the unexpected spread of the new coronavirus, the social situation is far beyond our imagination. I hope that the painters and we, like you all, will be able to survive this crucial phase and come together for a bright future.

[Hoshinoya Tokyo] “New Year’s Kabuki Stay” brings the hospitality of an Edo Period theatrical teahouse to the present day.

Hoshinoya Tokyo, a Japanese-style inn located in Otemachi, Tokyo, will again this year host the “New Year Kabuki Stay” program, a two-day and one-night stay from January 5 to 26, 2024.
For people living in Edo, one of their New Year’s pleasures was to watch Kabuki, and it was a chic way to spend the New Year. Theatrical teahouses supported this way of enjoying Kabuki. In addition to arranging tickets to the theater, the teahouses delighted patrons by providing a complete range of services, including plot notes, tea, sweets, makunouchi box lunches, and snacks and drinks (*1). Hoshinoya Tokyo offers a stay to celebrate the New Year with hospitality similar to the theatrical teahouses of the time.

[Shinjuku Gyoen x Naked] NAKED Autumn Foliage in Shinjuku Gyoen 2023 to be held

From November 22 (Wed) to December 3 (Sun), 2023, an autumn foliage lighting event will be held at Shinjuku Gyoen. Following the cherry blossom event this spring, Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked will collaborate again this fall for the autumn foliage event. Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s most famous gardens, is one of the few places in the city where visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves. The 200-meter-long rows of plane trees, the best maple tree spot in the city, Momijiyama, and the “Middle Pond,” with its spectacular reflection in the pond, will offer a world where the autumn leaves of Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked’s art and food are fused together.
