An online tea party that connects people across spaces, “Tea Sky Party sakue”

2020.08.31

The World Tea Party, which continues to create opportunities to experience and experience the modern world of chanoyu both domestically and overseas, is based on the concept of “expanding chanoyu from a tea room to a web space” We will hold an online tea ceremony “Tea Sky Party sakue” that can be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020.

“Sky” is one of the most important teachings of Zen. Everything is insubstantial, constantly changing and not the same for a moment. Shakyamuni explains that there is no such thing in this world and that is why we should not be obsessed with stereotypes.

During the Azuchi-Momoyama period, Rikyu expanded the tea ceremony from the Shoin to the tea house. The year 2020 marked a turning point in the history of the world. With the slogan of “expanding tea ceremony from a tea room to a web space,” everyone in the world is connected with a single cup of tea beyond space and time, and the “sky” of “now and here” is shared. , Aiming for a new shape of chanoyu that allows you to experience the erection of the za.

Special tea confectionery named after the September festival "Chuyo" will be sent in advance to the participants.

In September, a tea party was held under the theme of “Chrysanthemum”, a chrysanthemum that announces the arrival of autumn. We prepare special sweets named after Chungyang, and you can enjoy the arrival of autumn. (We will send it by courier in advance to those who want confectionery among the applicants) This time we also have a special seat “VR tea ceremony” for 15 people. At the VR Tea Ceremony, you can experience the world’s first tea ceremony and the tea ceremony that you can enjoy with a 360-degree VR image full of reality.

The online tea ceremony experience begins with the arrival of specially ordered tea confections that match the tea ceremony theme. You can experience a new tea ceremony that connects you to the world online by expanding the world of new images that allow you to experience the realism of a tea room through your computer or smartphone.

What is “Cheyang”
Shigeyo is called “Chrysanthemum Festival”. There is a “Kikusui legend” in ancient China that dew dripping from chrysanthemums fell on the river, and those who drank the water of the river had a long life. The legend was introduced to Japan in the Heian period, and chrysanthemums were decorated on the 9th September to prevent evil and pray for longevity.

"Chakukai sakue" project theme

During the Azuchi-Momoyama period, Rikyu expanded the tea ceremony from the Shoin to the tea room.
In 2020, the tea ceremony will be expanded from the tea room to the WEB space.

The sky is the most important teaching of Zen.
Everything is insubstantial, constantly changing and not the same for a moment.
There is absolutely nothing in this world. That is why Buddha preached that we should not be locked into stereotypes.

Connecting with a cup of tea that transcends space and time,
Share the “sky” only here and now.

Everyone in real time, anywhere in the world
A new form of chanoyu that allows you to experience the erection

“Tea Sky Society”

Design concept of "Sakuekai sakue"

The “sky” that the tea sky society values most.
In a different place, we have created a unique logo for the unique and unique meeting, where each time we have different encounters, and the different shapes of tea leaves, and the loosely gathering of each one, the unique shape of each meeting. The color is light blue. With an image of the sky that continues infinitely, you can participate from anywhere in the world, the sky where guests connect, and the unlimited possibilities of the tea ceremony, creating a light and global impression apart from the image of a normal tea ceremony.

Design of the last "Sorae sakue"

Last time, on July 5th (Sunday), an online tea party “Chakukukai sakue-Tanabata” was held. Limited to 50 people, we also had participants from overseas. On the floor, the artist’s work, Chiho Yamagishi, was used as a decoration for the Milky Way, and as for the sweets, we prepared natural colored Nishikama-kan with butterfly pea made by Kagurazaka Umekatei. *Please note that the sweets are different from those in this time.
