Drive-in theater held at Ario Ageo! ~Mobile outdoor cinema using stage truck~

2020.08.23

At “Ario Ageo Store (Ito-Yokado Co., Ltd.)” in Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture, a drive-in theater was held on July 23 and 24, 2020, where you can enjoy a movie from inside a car. (The movie is canceled on 23rd due to various circumstances)

●Keep social distance
● Thoroughly mask and disinfect
● Avoid denseness and perform outdoors

Still, as a company, in the unlikely event of an emergency, the only option is to create a private room outdoors and have almost no contact with people, the drive-in theater.
It can be said that a difficult and new era has come, which bothers the event staff.
However, although the beginning was thus a risk hedge against coronaviruses, the reality is a trigger to revive a good old culture.

About Drive-In Theater

Drive-in theater became a boom in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s, and became popular in Japan in the 90s.
It is a very nostalgic view for generations in their 50s and older, and it is an opportunity to revive the faint memories of youth.

About 50 vehicles participated this time. The voices of the participants were as many as “nostalgic!” and the younger generations were “new!”.

“My mom and dad used to go out to see outdoor movies in the car like this. It’s nostalgic. Dad.”

I thought that such a conversation was held in the car with my daughter who became a high school student this spring, and it was a warm and wonderful time and space.

The risk of infection in the "outdoor x private room" is infinitely equal to zero

The Olympics have been postponed, and the fire of sports and entertainment is about to disappear in 2020.
However, in the “outdoor x private room” “nostalgic x new” drive-in theater, even with the corona era, it became a light of hope for entertainment, and it seems to be managed somehow.
I would like to call once again this town the drive-in theater that is needed only for customer satisfaction, topicality, memories, and now.
Of course, as a base, I hope that the day you can enjoy events and leisure in the open air will come as soon as possible.

About event production

This event is produced by prove LiFE. LLC (a joint venture Prove Life), which operates a kitchen car portal site (Kitchen Cars Japan), produces kitchen cars, and conducts outdoor events such as “Nuts Party”. Since he owns the STAGE TRUCK SNUFKiN, he has succeeded in reducing the weight of the “scaffolding” for screen installation, which is indispensable for holding a drive-in theater.
A mobile drive-in theater is now possible, and costs are becoming more accessible.
In addition to equipment such as sound and lighting, we also have optional rental of parasols, chair tables, hammock, etc. that are optimal for space production.
