”Hoshino Resort Tomamu” the new spot “Cloud Bar”

2019.12.17

Hokkaido’s largest stay-type snow resort “Hoshino Resort Tomamu” operates “Muyo Terrace” from December 1, 2019 to April 5, 2020. This is a terrace where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the snowy mountain, where you can appreciate the phenomenon of water and mist in the air between 2 and 10 degrees below the freezing point. This time, you can see the rime from the new “Cloud Bar” that opened in the summer of 2019. In addition, we will light up the night rime for a limited time.

What is "Kiriho Terrace"

The rime ice terrace is located at an altitude of 1,088 meters on Mt. Tomamu and is a terrace where you can appreciate the spectacular view created by the rime on the trees. A typical image of a snowy mountain is a place visited by skiers and snowboarders. Therefore, this resort started operation as a hoarfrost terrace in the hope that people who do not ski or snowboard want to know the beauty of the snowy mountains. Also, in the night rime light-up started in 2017, you can see the shining shining shining frost as if it were a jewel. You can enjoy the superb view of the snowy mountain created by this hoarfrost at this resort.

Appreciate the rime from the new “Cloud Bar”

The “Cloud Bar” opened in the summer of 2019 is an observation spot inspired by a bar counter. There are 3 meters above the ground and 13 meters long counters and chairs on the slope of the mountain leading to the rime ice terrace. Two types of chairs are available, one for one person and two for a maximum of seven people. You can climb the ladder attached to the chair and sit down to see the whole view of the snowy mountain. Because it is installed on the slope of the mountain and there is no obstruction in front of you, it is a special seat that allows you to experience floating on the rime that spreads under your feet.

Cocktails and sweets to enjoy on the rime ice terrace

We will also provide “Hokkaido Fondant Chocolate” and “Hoarfrost Coffee”.

Night rime ice light up

For a limited time, we will light up the observation spots “Cloud Walk” and “Cloud Bar” on the rime ice terrace and along the road.
