Fukagawa Sangyo Co., Ltd. opened Tea & Gallery “FUKAGAWA SEIJI 1894 ROYAL KILN & TEA” as a new business type of Fukagawa Sangyo in Tokyo Midtown on March 30, 2020.

The menu that you can enjoy in the store is 3 kinds of sweets that we will collaborate with a pastry chef of “shodai bio nature”, a pastry shop that sticks to nature as much as possible, eliminating artificial coloring and chemical flavors as much as possible.
“Seasonal tart” where you can enjoy the gorgeous scent and color using plenty of natural seasonal ingredients, original truffle chocolate “Truffle Merveille” that makes full use of the original taste of the material, and Fukagawa blue created from Fukagawa’s original 1,350 degree reduction firing You can enjoy the beautiful marriage of “Ruri” ceramic plates.
There are also spacious sofa seats and counter seats for guests. On the sofa seat, you can see the images produced in the workshop in Saga Prefecture through the product, and you can know how to complete it by touching Fukagawa Seigaku. At the counter seat in the back, you can choose your favorite tea cup from “Today’s carefully selected tea cups” and enjoy tea brewed with tea leaves carefully selected by one of the leading tea appraiser in Japan. We propose “Fukagawa porcelain landscape” with a sofa seat and a calm counter dining like a home living room.
In addition, we have also prepared limited items that can only be purchased at Tokyo Midtown. The set, where you can enjoy beautiful vessels and selected sweets, adds color to special occasions such as gifts for loved ones and rewards for yourself.
In the future, we plan to offer an afternoon tea set that uses two-stage stacks.

The Hiroshima Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition “ZIPANGU: Contemporary Artists Who Defined the Heisei Era” (November 2, 2024 – December 22, 2024). This showcase brings together works by some of the most prominent figures in Japan’s contemporary art scene, including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Makoto Aida, Yoshitomo Nara, Chiharu Shiota, Izumi Kato, Akira Yamaguchi, and Miwa Komatsu. The exhibition has already garnered significant attention, exceeding 10,000 visitors.

HYAKKEI covered the dialogue between contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and Sueo Mizuma, the curator of this exhibition, held at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima. We also conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Mizuma.

The discussions centered on the aspirations behind the ZIPANGU exhibition and offered forward-looking insights, not only into Japan’s art world but also into the rediscovery of value within Japanese culture by its people.
