Night charter tour of “Kiyomizu-dera / Kyoto State Guest House” where you can enjoy autumn nights

Held at two locations, the Kyoto State Guest House, where traditional skills representing Japan are concentrated at Kiyomizu-dera, a world cultural heritage that represents Kyoto. We will propose a special tour for a small number of people who can experience the splendor of Kyoto in autumn, which can only be experienced at Kyoto Brighton Hotel.

Kiyomizu-dera, a world cultural heritage, is visited by many tourists every year. The beautifully lit stage of Kiyomizu and the glittering night view of Kyoto city will be reserved for a small number of people. Enjoy the unique experience of charter, greet the moment of lighting up together, listen to the story of Lord Morinuki in a special room that you can not normally enter, and have a valuable experience together. For dinner, you can choose your favorite dinner from the three restaurants, and we will prepare a seat for each group, so you can rest assured.

Kyoto State Guest House Night Charter Guided Tour

The Kyoto State Guest House is designed with the aim of creating “modern Japanese style” and has a beauty that fuses the tradition of Japanese architecture with modern technology. It is a blissful time to be greeted by the incense that is burned according to the visitors and to admire the numerous works of art created by the Living National Treasure.

Along with a polite guide, you can also visit the normally closed rooms, such as the “Suimei no Ma” where the summit meeting is held and the “Taki no Ma” where you can see the illuminated Otaki. Enjoy the quiet and private Kyoto State Guest House gracefully.

Date: October 24th (Sun) and November 3rd (Wednesday), 2021 Limited to 18 people each day
Price: One person from 37,500 yen (when using one room for two people)

Kyoto Brighton Hotel
It is located in a quiet residential area, almost in the center of Kyoto city, surrounded by three thousand tea ceremony houses, shrines and temples, famous temples, and historic universities. About 5 minutes on foot to Kyoto Imperial Palace. Convenient location for sightseeing in Kyoto. There are many long-established stores that have supported Kyoto’s food culture such as Japanese sweets, soy sauce, miso, and sake.

December sees the arrival of a number of Christmas breads. The Snowman with his cute smiling face is a sweet loaf with two different flavours: pudding cream and chocolate cream. It is a heartwarming treat with flavours that both children and adults can enjoy.

Also back this year is the popular Japanese Stollen, which was a big hit last year. This is a special cake that can only be tasted at Kimuraya, using Japanese-inspired ingredients such as persimmons, figs and koshi-an (sweet bean paste). ZIPANGU Contemporary artists who have run through the Heisei era” Takashi Murakami x Sueo Mizuma dialogue: ‘Beyond the Theory of Artistic Entrepreneurship’ / Interview with Mr. Mizuma: ‘Rediscovering the Value of Japanese Culture by the Japanese People

The Hiroshima Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition “ZIPANGU: Contemporary Artists Who Defined the Heisei Era” (November 2, 2024 – December 22, 2024). This showcase brings together works by some of the most prominent figures in Japan’s contemporary art scene, including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Makoto Aida, Yoshitomo Nara, Chiharu Shiota, Izumi Kato, Akira Yamaguchi, and Miwa Komatsu. The exhibition has already garnered significant attention, exceeding 10,000 visitors.

HYAKKEI covered the dialogue between contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and Sueo Mizuma, the curator of this exhibition, held at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima. We also conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Mizuma.

The discussions centered on the aspirations behind the ZIPANGU exhibition and offered forward-looking insights, not only into Japan’s art world but also into the rediscovery of value within Japanese culture by its people.

Two types of autumn-only red seals, ‘Chrysanthemum and Tanzaku’ and ‘Autumn Leaves and Candles’, are now available at Daisho-in Temple, Miyajima, a World Heritage island.

Two types of paper seals made exclusively for autumn, ‘Chrysanthemum and Tanzaku’ and ‘Autumn Leaves and Candles’, have been available since Monday 9 September at Daisho-in Temple on the World Heritage island of Miyajima. Quantities are limited and will run out as soon as they are gone.
