Iwakura City, Aichi, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on December 1, 2021 (Wednesday). Citizen participation type commemorative video “Gojo River Parade Movie” has been released on YouTube.
In Iwakura City, which is located in the northwestern part of Aichi Prefecture, there is the Gojo River that flows north and south through the center of the city, and about 1,400 cherry blossom trees are in full bloom every spring along the river.
However, due to the influence of Corona, the annual “Sakura Festival” has been canceled for two consecutive years, and the chances of seeing the cherry blossoms in Iwakura have decreased.
Even so, in order to celebrate Iwakura City, more than 400 Iwakura citizens participated, and a video celebrating Iwakura City’s 50th birthday was completed with the cherry blossoms in full bloom, which is a specialty of Iwakura City.
Citizens and students who participated said, “I’m glad I was able to participate” and “I enjoyed it,” and the video was created by all the citizens.
