Odawara Flower Garden’s “Yoryu no Umeen” is a colorful plum garden boasting the largest number of varieties in the Kanto region, with 480 flowers and plums of about 200 varieties from early bloom to late bloom.
The theme of this plum festival is determined every year, and there is a rule to introduce the charm of the unknown plum. The theme for 2020 is “Rare plums-rare plums in early spring”.
In the mountain stream Umeen, which boasts the largest number of varieties in the Kanto region, unusual varieties of plums are planted, and there is a deep appeal of varieties that can not be seen in other gardens.
For example, “golden cranes” with as many as 40 petals, “kinsenryokugaku” with stamens that extend longer than petals, and double in flowers Spotlights plums with unique characteristics, such as the flower-blowing “Kofundaikaku”, which are particularly rare in Umezono.

At the plum festival, events such as “guided tours”, as well as snacks using plums and souvenirs using local plums are also sold. The parking lot and admission fee are free of charge at the “Urban Plum Garden” at Odawara Flower Garden. Please enjoy the variety of plum blossoms.
