New products are released from the tableware series brand “KIWAKOTO”, which combines beautiful design and craftsmanship. Tableware that shines with its individuality while retaining the gorgeous and delicate characteristics of Kiyomizu ware. We will start selling “New Color”, a vessel that is extremely aesthetically pleasing in Japan.
A tableware series developed with the idea of “crafts as daily necessities” that are dignified in everyday life. We will newly sell three colors, “earth” and “sky” where titanium crystals glitter on a matte texture, and “light” which is brushed with silver powder and baked.
The warmth created by human hands, the shape that was reached through trial and error. The mindset that knows enough and selects cyclical and eternal things that are the basis of Kyoto culture. The next 100 years will be created by continuing to search for something that is truly comfortable for ourselves and society.
A vessel that imitates the outline of a flower, inspired by ancient patterns such as the “family crest” that is simply made into a figure.
It is a delicate and practical vessel made by the technique of the artist and workshop of Kiyomizu ware in Kyoto.
Snow
It features a matte texture that makes use of the earthen surface using the baking method. The color of the food looks beautiful.
Soil
It is a vessel with a profound atmosphere with a matte texture and sparkling titanium crystals.
Sky
A symbolic product of the tableware series. It features a matte texture that makes use of the earthen surface using the baking method. The color of the food looks beautiful.
Light
Each dish is brushed with silver powder and baked. The elegant brilliance complements the table.
Kiyomizu-yaki is said to have originated from pottery that was baked with the soil of the land where the god dwells as a souvenir for worshipers on the approach to Kiyomizu-dera. Selected craftsmen from all over the country were gathered to make tea ceremony tools and gifts to public houses and daimyo, and it developed as a pottery area.
As a gift, the commitment to create something unique and beautiful that has never been seen has been passed down to the present day, and many makers are active as a production center of one-of-a-kind, small and many varieties. There are as many expressions as there are craftsmen and writers, which is why I can’t think of the classic “Kiyomizu ware”.
KIWAKOTO’s vessels were created by this sharpened aesthetic sense and technique. The attention to detail that is transmitted the moment you pick it up is the pride of being the center of Japanese culture, and is the very “stickiness” of the creators that has been passed down from generation to generation.
