The summer version of the tour will begin on Saturday, June 25, 2022. JR Tokai, familiar with the catchphrase “Let’s go to Kyoto,” is running a summer version of the commercial from June 25, 2022 (Sat).
The Kenninji Temple, the setting of the TV commercial, will be offering a special summer-only experience.

Kenninji Temple, Reigenin Temple, the setting for the filming of a TV commercial. Special private experience of lying down and looking up at the dragon on the ceiling.

Can I lie down? It’s fine!

The magnificent “Sowryu-zu(Twin Dragons)” painted on the ceiling of Kenninji Temple Hall,
You can lie down on the tatami mats and look up at the masterpiece “Bokuryu-zu(Ink Dragons)” drawn at the sub-temple Reigen-in, which was dedicated by Chinese artist Chen Man in 2021.
Kenninji Temple has reclining chairs and tatami mats in the inner sanctuary, which is not accessible to the general public!
Please enjoy the dragon drawn on the ceiling from a luxurious angle.

~Experience the spirit of Zen through gardens and tea at Kyoto’s oldest Zen temple

The garden designer created the beautiful Choon-tei Garden, which can be viewed from any direction, the ○△□-no-niwa, which is said to symbolize the four philosophies of Zen Buddhism, and Daio-en, a dry landscape garden with green moss and huge rocks on white sand. Appreciate with commentary by Yuri Ugaya.
After viewing the garden, you will enjoy a cup of tea from Kenninji Temple, whose origin is said to have been brought back from China by Zen master Eisai, the founder of the temple.
“Gion Tsujiri”, a Uji tea company, and “Kagizen Yoshifusa”, a popular Japanese confectionery company, cooperated in the planning.

In addition to visiting “Kenninji”, you can visit temples and shrines with famous gardens such as Tenryu-ji, Jojakko-ji, and Enko-ji, and enjoy cool sweets at the target facilities.
Comes with an original Kyoto fan. (One of Kenninji’s “Fujin Raijin-zu folding screen” pattern or “Shaved ice” pattern will be handed out at random.)

Kenninji Temple
Kennin-ji Temple was built in 1202 by Shogun Minamoto no Yoriie, who donated the temple grounds to Eisai Zenji as the founder, imitating Mt Hyakujo.
At Kenninji Temple, there are many cultural properties such as a high-definition reproduction of the National Treasure “Fujin Raijin-zu Folding Screen” drawn by Tawaraya Sotatsu and the ceiling painting “Sowryu-zu(Twin Dragons)” drawn by Junsaku Koizumi to commemorate the 800th anniversary of its foundation. It’s on display.
In addition, there are gardens such as Daio-en Garden, Choon-tei Garden, and ○△□(Maru-Sankaku-Shikaku)-no-niwa Garden in the precincts, and you can see the garden from the room.
