The official online store of “Arita porcelain kiln-Fukagawa Seiji” has been renewed

2021.02.11

Fukagawa Seiji Co., Ltd., a former Arita porcelain kiln founded in 1897, reopened its official online store on January 6, 2021 to make it easier to see and use than before.

With this renewal, customers can easily select products, use them, and enjoy shopping. The purpose was to make Fukagawa Seiji’s vessels more accessible and enjoyable at home.
Especially in the current situation of Corona, I think that many people try to refrain from going out and shopping as much as possible, so it was created with the goal of being able to complete the renewal as soon as possible and publish it.

We hope that you will surround the container and spend a little calm time.

Ease of purchase for gifts

Fukagawa Seiji is often selected as a gift. It is designed to be easy to purchase online.
Regarding gift wrapping and support for Noshi, previously in the “Remarks” column, customers were asked whether gift wrapping was necessary, whether or not Noshi was necessary, and if they were needed, selection of outer and inner Noshi, table writing, and personalization. However, if gift wrapping or Noshi is required due to the renewal, it will be automatically displayed in the pull-down menu or text box, so you can purchase smoothly.

Ease of product selection

We have a lot of products with abundant designs, but I think there are cases where you cannot find the product you are looking for because of that.
At the store, the sales staff can support shopping, but I think it is difficult online.
Therefore, we have divided them into easy-to-understand categories such as “shape”, “series”, “gifts”, and “crafts”. It is devised so that you can visually select products by using images and illustrations.

Stimulate demand for craft works

Fukagawa Seiji’s strength lies in the succession of traditional techniques over 120 years and the innovation of each era.
Until now, the number of craft works posted on the online store was small, but with this renewal, we have increased the number of posted works and photographed products so that as many customers as possible can see the craft works that can be said to be the essence of Fukagawa Seiji. By making the background black, we are particular about creating images that are suitable for crafts.

In addition, the number of cuts per product is usually about 1 to 3 in the ceramic industry, but in craft works, 5 or more cuts are posted so that you can see details such as shades of dyeing and the touch of the brush on the overpainting. I made a lot of works.
We believe that your interest in craft works will lead to the appeal of everyday tableware that follows that technique.

Expansion of payment methods

Until now, online stores did not accept credit cards or convenience store payments.
With this renewal, we support not only credit cards, which are often requested by customers, but also Amazon Pay.
In the future, we will introduce PayPay in January and convenience store payment in February.
We believe that it is important for online stores to prepare the payment method that customers desire.

Convenient for smartphones

It is now compatible with smartphones, which is now commonplace, but it was not supported either, so the layout is now automatically changed according to the terminal used by the customer.
▲ Usage rate by device in Fukagawa Seiji online store: Smartphone 69.3%, PC 25.9%, Tablet 4.8%

Please look forward to the Fukagawa Seiji online store so that our customers can have more fun and spend their shopping time at home, such as by increasing the number of products.

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
