Tsubaki, Sansuiro, and Yugawara Chiyodaso are each launching special packages to commemorate the event. This spring tradition sees Yugawara Plum Grove, set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Maku, burst into bloom with some 4,000 red and white plum trees, enveloping the grounds in the subtle fragrance of plum blossoms.
The annual “Ume no Utage” event at Yugawara Plum Grove in Yugawara Town will be held again this year in 2026. This year’s event period runs from Saturday, 7th February to Sunday, 8th March 2026.
During this period, approximately seven direct shuttle buses per day will operate from JR Yugawara Station to Makuyama Park. The journey to the park takes about 15 minutes.
At Sansuiro and Yugawara Chiyodaso, booking a special plan entitles you to a complimentary plum garden admission ticket, waiving the usual ¥300 entrance fee.
At Tsubaki, when you book our special plan, in addition to complimentary tickets granting free entry to the plum garden, we will provide one bottle of our plum wine, “Ume no Sato”, per room during your evening meal.
Relax and enjoy Yugawara Onsen, enveloped in the fragrance of plums.
Venture a little further to Kawazu Town in Shizuoka Prefecture, where the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival (scheduled for 7 February to 8 March 2026) takes place, and the season for early-blooming cherry blossoms also arrives along the Chitose River in Yugawara.
※Please note that no shuttle service is provided for access to the Yugawara Plum Grove ‘Plum Festival’ or the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival.
