Introduce 12 NIPPONIA facilities nationwide that are participating in the “Nighttime accommodation ticket.”

2020.06.22

At the 12 facilities of the town development brand “NIPPONIA”, which NOTE Co., Ltd. develops nationwide, we sell “night staying tickets” that can be purchased without specifying the date of stay. As of May 22, we have achieved sales of about 1.5 million yen at “NIPPONIA Mino merchant town” in Mino city, Gifu prefecture.

The tourism industry is one of the areas that has been hit hard by the effects of the coronavirus, which has spread nationwide since the end of last year. There are some facilities whose sales are reduced by 80 to 90% compared to the average year, and how to survive the Corona Erosion remains a major issue. The area with the accommodations of “NIPPONIA” is no exception, and the usual bustle is lost.

At “NIPPONIA”, we have been conducting business with the purpose of getting people to feel the charm of the area by immersing themselves in the life of the area through their stay. If the inn runs out of control due to this Corona, the place that provides local value will also be lost. In order to avoid such a future, we are currently offering a “night stay voucher” service that allows you to purchase accommodation rights without specifying the date of stay, unlike regular accommodation reservations.
Many of the NIPPONIA lodging facilities are old folk houses that have been converted into inns, and most of them are decentralized facilities with guest rooms scattered throughout the area. As a result, guests have little opportunity to come into contact with other guests. In addition, since the guest rooms are old houses, they are well ventilated and you can spend a comfortable environment. In addition, there are rooms that can be rented as a whole and pets are available, so it is possible to guide you to a room that suits your needs.

At "NIPPONIA Mino merchant town", you can enjoy breakfast in each guest room.
At Sasayama Castle Hotel NIPPONIA, there are guest rooms where you can stay with your pet.

This corona is expected to create different needs for tourism as well. NOTE, Inc. sees this time as a turning point where interest is gathering in areas other than tourist destinations, and we will proceed with the business to expand the efforts of “NIPPONIA” without defeating corona.

What is the aim of "NIPPONIA"?

Rural areas, castle towns, post towns… The landscape of Japan, which has been created and maintained in a manner suited to the climate and livelihood of the land, is the history of Japan’s life itself and can be said to be the culmination of culture. However, such a landscape is gradually being lost in the modern society where efficiency is a priority.
NOTE Co., Ltd. aims to create a mechanism that maintains and inherits the food and lifestyle culture unique to the area, starting from the disappearing old houses, and area management and sustainability that respect the historical and cultural resources of the land. We practice regional development.
We named this initiative “NIPPONIA,” and we are expanding our business nationwide under the philosophy of “creating a nostalgic and new life in Japan.”
At present, there are 15 facilities (105 rooms) (as of January 2020) nationwide that have established a collaborative network with colleagues who share the same philosophy and regenerated as a new movement for regional revitalization. We are planning to develop about 30 facilities (about 200 rooms) in total.

The facilities participating in the “Night Stay Ticket” are as follows.

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
