“Takikawa Paper Bag Lantern Festival”

In Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, we started launching sky lanterns in 2012 with the wish of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in 2011.
Sky lanterns are held over two days, the eve and the main festival, and the tickets for the launch are so popular that they sell out early every year. The Tsunan Snow Festival is also a festival with lots of activities such as a snowboard straight jump competition, fireworks, a snow lantern, a snowmobile test drive experience, and a snow bicycle experience. In addition to the event, New Greenpia Tsunan holds a lantern launch experience every day during the winter months.
