[Regular sightseeing bus] World heritage “Shirakawa-go and Gokayama Ainokura course” operation resumed

We are pleased to announce the resumption of regular sightseeing bus service “World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go and Gokayama Ainokura” from December 1, 2012. This course, which had been suspended due to the spread of the new coronavirus, has resumed service in conjunction with the resumption of the acceptance of foreign visitors to Japan.

The tour includes a stroll through the World Heritage Site of Gokayama Ainokura, a Gassho-zukuri village, a walk through the World Heritage Site of Shirakawa-go Ogimachi, a Gassho-zukuri village, a visit to the Gassho-zukuri Minka-en, an outdoor museum that displays Gassho-zukuri buildings, and a view of Gassho-zukuri villages from the castle tower on Shiroyama, to fully enjoy the Gokayama Ainokura and Shirakawa-go World Heritage Site.

Duration: Runs daily from December 1, 2022 (Thursday) to February 19, 2023 (Sunday)
Guide: Not accompanied
Food: None (Feel free to eat in Shirakawa-go.)
Price: Adult 6,000 yen
Child (6-12 years old) 4,000 yen

*Gassho-Zukuri Minka-en is closed every Thursday. (No refunds will be made. Original goods will be provided instead)

Children 5 years old and younger may attend free of charge, but will not be provided with a bus seat. If a bus seat is required, a child fare will be charged.

Two types of paper seals made exclusively for autumn, ‘Chrysanthemum and Tanzaku’ and ‘Autumn Leaves and Candles’, have been available since Monday 9 September at Daisho-in Temple on the World Heritage island of Miyajima. Quantities are limited and will run out as soon as they are gone.
