World Heritage Nijo Castle will be open from July 13th (Thu) to September 30th (Sat), 2023, so that many citizens and tourists can experience the charm of the history and culture of Nijo Castle.
Special admission to the “National Treasure Ninomaru Palace, Soto-Samurai Imperial Envoy Room” will be held.

Normally, you can view from the corridor, but you can enter the “Imperial envoy room” where the imperial messenger, who is the envoy of the emperor, was invited, and you can see the wall painting (copy) and ceiling painting up close.

Exhibition of original paintings on partitions of Ninomaru Palace, an important cultural property

The wall painting in the upper section of the imperial envoys room is open to the public.
The upper stage, which welcomed imperial envoys from the emperor, is painted with vivid green and vermilion leaves that express the freshness of early summer.

Morning meal at Seiryuen Kountei (by reservation only)

Kountei, which is usually closed to the public, offers a special breakfast with limited quantities.
