[Japan’s starry sky, Achi Village, Nagano] Summer Sweets Using Local Ingredients Jointly Planned and Released

2022.07.22

From Saturday, July 30, 2022, collaboration sweets of Nagoya Sangyo University Faculty of Contemporary Business students and Yurui no Yado Eyama will be on sale for a limited time. This product is a product planned in collaboration with Achi Hirugami Tourist Bureau Co., Ltd. and Yurui no Yado Eyama, by conducting voluntary training using the free time of the work experience and using local ingredients for summer sweets.

Shaved ice of tomatoes from Achi village

The key point in the Tomato Shaved Ice is the tomatoes we use as ingredients. The reason is that we use the ones that we put out at the local direct sales market. Commercial tomatoes are harvested one step before maturity before they are put out for sale, but the direct sales outlets harvest them after they are fully red, so they are sweeter and more nutritious because they receive nutrients from the seedlings for longer than commercial tomatoes.

In addition, factors such as Achi Village’s unique “Achi Organic Certification System” and the large difference in temperatures due to the mountainous region allow for a vigorous crop. Tomatoes themselves are sweeter than others, so we use less sugar, which is good for our health.

Blueberry mini parfait from Achi village

The point of the product is to not let the sweetness of the blueberries get in the way. In making the ice cream, we used products from Neba Village in Minami-Shinshu, where the sweetness is reduced so that the blueberries do not diminish.
