[Hoshino Resorts Tomamu] Opened a cafe overlooking the idyllic scenery where animals such as cows and sheep live

2022.09.01

You can taste the dairy products of “Farm Hoshino”, which is an agricultural project developed by “Hoshino Resorts Tomamu”, where cattle are pastured and dairy products are produced.
The farm cafe “Farm Designs” will open on September 1, 2022.

Overlooking the idyllic scenery of Hokkaido where animals live

Our cafe is located at the entrance of the farm area where animals such as cows and sheep live in the site of about 100 hectares.
From the windows in the store, you can see the idyllic scenery typical of Hokkaido, such as cows eating green grass and sheep resting in the shade of trees.
It is also recommended to spend a relaxing time on the outdoor terrace while feeling the cool breeze and the scent of green grass.

The store has a live studio where visitors can observe craftsmen at work.

The restaurant will have a live studio where visitors can observe the finishing of cheese produced at Farm Hoshino.
Cheesemakers from Farm Hoshino will bring cards of mozzarella cheese made at the cheese plant, also located in the farm area, to this location for the finishing process.
Visitors can see the cheese making process in action, which is rarely seen, and can even taste the fresh cheese in the restaurant.
In addition to mozzarella cheese, sweets made with Tomamu milk are also produced in the live studio.

Tomamu milk… Milk squeezed from cows grazing in the farm area.

Menu using dairy products from Farm Hoshino

At our café, you can enjoy a menu featuring dairy products produced at Farm Hoshino.
Among the many dairy products on the menu, we recommend the “Cured ham mozzarella panino”.
Produced in a live studio, the milkiness of the fresh mozzarella cheese and the saltiness of the prosciutto ham are a perfect match.
In addition, many other dairy products menu items that can be easily enjoyed will be offered, such as “Whey Drink,” which allows you to enjoy the mild sourness and sweetness of fruit together, and soft-serve ice cream made from Tomamu milk.
It is also recommended to take out your favorite menu items and have a picnic at the farm area.

Price: Cured ham mozzarella panino 1,300 yen, Whey drink 900 yen, Tomamu soft serve 500 yen (all tax included)
Hours of Operation: 10:00~17:00 (last order 16:30)
Location: Hoshino Resorts Tomamu Farm Area

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
