Within the facility, there is a “ Genji Bridge ” that recreates a part of the old wood of “ Ujibashi ”, which is said to be the place where Hideyoshi Toyotomi pumped the water used for tea ceremony, and preferred from a total of 20 small rooms on the top Choose a room and experience. You can enjoy the matcha yourself while looking at the paper on which the matcha is written.
At Genjibashi, you can see the tea plantation and Byodo-in in the distance from a part, so you can experience it in a quiet moment.
In addition to this, there are various tea experiences, such as “Making tea by hand”, which makes green tea using the tea-making method handed down to Uji, and “Making green tea with stone mortar,” which grinds stone mills to make matcha.
The newly opened Gyokuro-tei also offers dishes and sweets using Fukujuen Gyokuro. There are a wide variety of menus such as “Gyokuro Taichazuke” and “Gyokuro Shiruko”, which use the Uji Kobo Limited product “Uji no Asama Gyokuro”, and the rare “Gyokuro Fruit Soda”.
