The ‘BAR Style Plan’—a ‘floating cherry blossom viewing bar’ where guests can avoid the crowds on land and enjoy a luxurious experience gliding through a tunnel of cherry blossoms with a cocktail in hand—is proving extremely popular. In response to the high volume of bookings, we have decided to add extra sailings. Ahead of the 2026 cherry blossom season, we are expanding our schedule to enable more visitors to enjoy the blossoms from the water.
Meguro River: One of Tokyo’s Premier Cherry Blossom Spots – A New Option for ‘Cherry Blossom Viewing from the Water’ to Avoid the Crowds
Around 800 cherry trees line the banks of the Meguro River, creating a ‘tunnel of cherry blossoms’ that seems to cover the river in spring. Whilst this is a popular area visited by many cherry blossom viewers every year, in recent years there has been a growing demand to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more relaxed viewing experience.
The ‘Meguro River Cherry Blossom Cruise’, operated by Tokyo Waterways, has grown in popularity in response to these needs. The unique experience of gazing up at the cherry blossoms from the deck has become a hot topic on social media, and bookings for the 2026 season are already looking strong.
With the addition of these extra sailings, even more visitors will be able to enjoy the cherry blossom viewing experience from the ‘premium seats on the water’, offering a perspective quite different from that on land.
