“Kyoto Whiskey” from Kyoto’s first whiskey distillery

2021.03.29

Kyoto Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. has started selling three types of “Kyoto Whiskey Nishijin Ori Red Belt”, “Kyoto Whiskey Nishijin Ori Black Belt” and “Kyoto Whiskey Nishijin Ori Purple Belt”.

The first whiskey distillery in Kyoto Prefecture, located in Kyotamba Town in central Kyoto Prefecture, has been established. It is located in the best area for whiskey making, where the temperature difference between day and night is large due to the high quality water that is indispensable for whiskey making and the wind blown from Mt. Chorogatake.

In the traditional culture and nature of the ancient city of Kyoto, we have introduced two pot stills of 5000 liters and one pot still of 1000 liters, for a total of three pot stills. We manufacture whiskey with an elegant taste and are looking to expand it from Kyoto to the world.

Nishijin-ori, which has developed in this area, is now famous not only in Kyoto but also in the world as a silk fabric that represents Japan. There is nothing that cannot be woven in Nishijin-ori. In addition to the high technology that makes you say so, the patterns woven by various techniques are characteristic.
