Kanazawa Pudding Pavilion, ‘Ishikawa’s No.1 smooth pudding specialty shop’, reopens.

2024.09.11

Kanazawa Pudding Pavilion, which aims for local production for local consumption by using milk from local ‘Holi Dairy’ as an ingredient and actively using fruit from Ishikawa Prefecture, reopened on Saturday, 7 September 2024.

What is Kanazawa Pudding Pavilion?

A prized product of the Kanazawa Pudding Pavilion, it cannot be ordered and can only be eaten on site as it is too soft due to its unique production process.
It is possible to take it home, but no preservatives are used to ensure the best possible taste. As a result, it has a short shelf life.

Yuzen Pudding

Yuzen pudding, which expresses the vibrant colours of Kanazawa’s traditional hand painting technique “Kaga Yuzen”* with mixed fruits, is visually appealing and, of course, delicious. It was created in the hope that everyone would enjoy such puddings.

All the puddings are carefully handmade one by one so that everyone will love them as a new Kanazawa speciality.

Kaga Yuzen: Dyeing based on nature and classical motifs, using Kaga Gosai (indigo, rouge, ochre, green and old purple) as the base colour.

This is the pride of a pudding specialist! The sweet caramel flavour of the pudding goes perfectly with the soft cream. The scattered arazan gives it a great appearance.

Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture] “Submerged Forest of Lake Shirakawa,” a Mysterious Spring-Only Scene

The mysterious scenery of Lake Shirakawa in the town of Iide in southern Yamagata Prefecture can be seen only during two months in spring. In spring, a large amount of melt water flows into Lake Shirakawa from the Iide mountain range, one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains, where there is heavy snowfall. When the lake is full of water, it creates a fantastic sight of white willow trees as if they are growing out of the water.
