Autumn special products are now available at Fujiya Hotel’s Bakery & Sweets Picot.

Fujiya Hotel sells seasonal products unique to a resort hotel. The hotel’s ‘Bakery & Sweets Picot’ has started selling special autumn products.

Mont Blanc in autumn

Hazelnut meringue layered with chocolate mousse, crème, chestnut astringent crème crush and a squeeze of marron cream with koshi-an (sweet bean paste) for richness.

Chestnut bread

This autumn-only product is made with marron paste, white bean paste and chopped chestnut nectar, wrapped in pastry dough and baked in the shape of a chestnut.

Quiche with porcini and brown mushrooms

Made with porcini mushrooms, brown mushrooms, onion, bacon and pine nuts. Two types of porcini mushrooms are used, dried and frozen, for more texture and flavour, and milk in which the mushrooms have been soaked overnight is mixed with the ingredients to give the mushrooms an extra flavour.

Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture] “Submerged Forest of Lake Shirakawa,” a Mysterious Spring-Only Scene 

The mysterious scenery of Lake Shirakawa in the town of Iide in southern Yamagata Prefecture can be seen only during two months in spring. In spring, a large amount of melt water flows into Lake Shirakawa from the Iide mountain range, one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains, where there is heavy snowfall. When the lake is full of water, it creates a fantastic sight of white willow trees as if they are growing out of the water.
