A bus tour to enjoy a 360-degree view of the Oirase Gorge, a sacred place for autumn leaves

2020.09.18

The only resort hotel “Hoshino Resorts Oirase Keiryu Hotel” built along the Oirase Keiryu will carry out the “Autumn Leaves Premium Open Bus Tour” from October 18th to 31st, 2020. .. Autumn leaves peak from mid-October to early November every year, and about 700,000 people (* 1) visit the Oirase Gorge and its surroundings. Although it is a time of increasing bustle, this tour, which is held in the early morning, allows you to enjoy the autumn leaves from a new perspective while feeling the tranquility and clear air that are completely different from the daytime.

In addition, because the open-air double-decker bus runs along the mountain stream, you can fully enjoy the exhilaration of running through nature and the 360-degree view, and just by taking the bus, the national park is rich. It is also a feature that you can enjoy nature. This tour has been realized in partnership with Hinomaru Motor Co., Ltd., which develops a two-story open top bus tour “Sky Bus Tokyo” in Tokyo. This is the first bus tour in Japan that runs along a mountain stream where you can fully enjoy the autumn colors.

We have been studying a new way to enjoy a trip that thoroughly avoids three-cs, as the way of the “with corona era” that will be prolonged. The Okuirase mountain stream that flows in front of the hotel is located in Towada Hachimantai National Park, and is designated as a special protected area, natural monument, and special scenic spot of the national park.

In this place with such abundant nature, we want you to experience the nature of the Oirase Gorge and refresh yourself while avoiding the three crowds, so we partnered with Hinomaru Motor Co., Ltd. for this tour. It came to development. We will outsource the bus operation to the local bus company Towada Kanko Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and we would like to work together with the local tourism industry to overcome the protracted “with corona era.”

Hunting autumn leaves while feeling the autumn breeze

The Oirase Gorge, which reaches the peak of autumn colors, is crowded with many tourists every year, and the roads are congested during the day, so it is difficult to enjoy the autumn colors hunting slowly.

On the other hand, since this tour starts early in the morning when there is little movement of people, there are few signs of cars, and you can enjoy the moment when the morning sun reaches the mountain stream and the autumn leaves shine the most. The beauty of nature is once in a lifetime, and the colors of the autumn leaves bathed in the morning sun add color and contrast, further enhancing the beauty of the mountain stream.

In addition, after passing through the tunnel of autumn leaves while listening to the murmuring of the mountain stream and the barking of wild birds, we will serve champagne in front of Lake Towada, the origin of the Oirase mountain stream. The scenery of Lake Towada in Kinshu, where the autumn leaves of Sotowayama and the morning sun are combined, is also a masterpiece. In addition, you can choose from 10 unique types of champagne selected by the sommelier, and you can spend a luxurious time with your favorite champagne.

A new experience overlooking the autumn leaves from above

The Oirase Gorge is a U-shaped valley, and the roads and promenades on which buses run are at the bottom of the valley, so it has been common to see the autumn leaves from below.
The bus on this tour is a two-story bus with seats higher than ordinary buses, so you can feel the autumn leaves of tall trees that you could only see from a distance. You can enjoy the autumn leaves from a new perspective that has never been seen before.

When you actually participate, you will be surrounded by trees and rock walls that are about 30 meters high or more, and you will feel as if you are going through a tunnel of autumn leaves. Not only those who visit the Oirase Gorge for the first time, but also the locals who usually watched from the inside of the car can enjoy the autumn leaves hunting from their own perspectives, away from the hustle and bustle of the daytime.

Surrounded by a 360-degree view, you can refresh your body and soul by feeling the autumn colors and nature with your whole body.

Enjoy with peace of mind with thorough infection prevention measures

In this tour, we have taken the following “hygiene management” and measures to avoid three crowds so that you can participate in the tour with peace of mind.

・ Install alcohol at the entrance
・ Before each flight departs, disinfect the handrails, seat belts, windowpanes, and seats in the car.
3 Measures to avoid denseness

Sky Bus Tokyo

Started operation in Tokyo in 2004 as Japan’s first two-story open top bus tour. It features a view from the open seats where you can enjoy a 360-degree view.

While getting on the bus, you will tour the city with the fun guidance of the bus attendant while making full use of the scenery from a different perspective, the wind and sound transmitted directly, the scent and the five senses. Recently, it has also been used in professional sports championship parades.
