Immunity boosted by taking a deep breath and bathing in a hot spring “One-day hot spring cure plan”

2020.10.21

In the “Karuizawa Hoshino Area”, a place where people who love nature and culture run by Hoshino Resorts, the “One-day hot spring cure plan” will be on sale from November 4, 2020 to March 19, 2021. It is said that hot spring treatment is effective in enhancing “immunity (natural healing power)”. In this plan, we adopted a breathing method such as taking a deep breath in the clear air of Karuizawa, and approached to improve immunity from the aspect of improving lung function.

In addition, it features a day trip setting that does not require a long stay, and a solo travel setting that includes lunch and body care so that you can fully enjoy your time alone without stress. It is a plan that can be used by going out from nearby prefectures and even beginners of hot springs.

Feel free to take a hot spring in Karuizawa. Let's boost immunity with hot springs this winter

It is said that hot springs, which stay in hot spring areas for a long period of time and are treated by hot springs, have the effect of enhancing “immunity (natural healing power)”. When your immune system is weakened, your body may become ill and you may feel depressed.

Some people may be interested in hot springs, but it is difficult to stay for a long time and the threshold is high. For such people, the “Karuizawa Hoshino Area” will sell a “single day trip hot spring plan” that allows you to easily take a hot spring without having to stay for a long time.

The center of the plan is “Hoshino Onsen Tonbo no Yu”, and the period is from November 4, 2020 to March 19, 2021. In order to feel the boost of immunity even in a day trip to the hot springs, we have incorporated a breathing method into the hot spring bathing method and prepared a drink blended with ginger to improve the intestinal environment.

In addition, body care and lunch that can be selected from 6 stores are included in the plan so that you can fully enjoy your time alone.

Hoshino Onsen Dragonfly Hot Spring

Hoshino Onsen Tonbo-no-Yu, which is the center of the one-day hot spring plan, is a bathing facility that flows directly from the source, following the flow of Hoshino Onsen, which opened in the Taisho era.

The spring quality is hydrogen carbonate spring and chloride spring, and the hot spring is soft and thick. It is said that when you are soaking in a bathtub, you wash away waste products, and when you get out of the bath, a veil of salt covers your skin and moisturizes it. “Beautiful skin hot water” that has both cleansing and moisturizing.

There is an open-air bath surrounded by natural trees and a spacious indoor bath with large windows, and the exterior looks like a post town.

4 ways to enjoy a one-day hot spring plan

1 Improve immunity by combining hot spring bathing method with breathing method

Taking advantage of the rich nature of Karuizawa, we have incorporated breathing methods such as deep breathing in the clear air into the hot spring bathing method. The breathing method is used to improve immunity from the aspect of improving lung function. We have also prepared the “Hoshino Onsen Tonbo no Yu Bathing Guidance Book” that summarizes how to enter the hot springs and hot and cold baths that warm your body in an easy-to-understand manner along with the breathing method.

The plan includes a bathing fee and a towel rental fee, so you can come empty-handed on the day and take a bath as many times as you like. In addition, there is also a rental of “Poka Poka Azuki Muffler” filled with warm azuki beans so as not to cool the warm body after bathing.

2 Cocoa drink blended with ginger that regulates the intestinal environment

Ginger is an ingredient that can be expected to improve the intestinal environment and boost immunity. The one-day hot spring plan includes “Scorched Marshmallow Spice Cocoa” blended with ginger. A drink that warms the body from the inside, with sweet cocoa accented with pungent ginger and spices.

For lunch, you can choose from 6 restaurants in the Karuizawa Hoshino area, including Italian and European cuisine. Each store has a lunch menu for a one-day hot spring plan. You don’t need to make a reservation in advance, and you can choose a restaurant according to your mood, so you don’t feel stressed. One of the 6 stores, the villager’s cafeteria, recommends “Plenty of mushroom throwing soba”. It is a local dish of Shinshu where you can enjoy the soba noodles in a basket by putting them in a pot containing chicken, vegetables, and various mushrooms (throwing them).

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
