Sauna & Marche event “Shimanto River Outdoor Sauna” that you can enjoy in the early morning at night in Shimanto Town, Kochi Prefecture

2020.11.25

In the Shimanto River basin area of Shimanto Town, Kochi Prefecture, an outdoor sauna made of Shimanto Hinoki that you can experience while watching the nebula on a winter night and a complete local production and local consumption project “Shimanto River Outdoor Sauna” where you can enjoy Marche in the early morning We are pleased to inform you that it will be available only on weekends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for two months from December 4, 2020 (Friday).

Shimanto Town, which has the Shimanto River called “the last clear stream in Japan,” is rich in tourism resources such as nature and food. However, there are few tourist contents that can be provided to tourists at night and in the early morning, and especially in winter, there was a problem that the whole area of Shimanto was in a quiet season.

Against this background, RELA GREEN VILLAGE aimed to attract new tourists during the off-season and create new experiences for existing tourists. We will develop “Shimanto River Outdoor Sauna” where you can enjoy outdoor sauna and Marche as “Reiwa 2nd year, a project to create a new time market by utilizing night and early morning” adopted by the Japan Tourism Agency.

At “Shimanto River Outdoor Sauna”, you can enjoy the outdoor sauna in the sauna hut made of Shimanto cypress wood while watching the nebula at night. In addition, we will prepare a kitchen car that provides “sauna rice” and alcohol, which are indispensable for sauna lovers, and hold night events centered on the sauna on weekends.

Furthermore, in the early morning, there is a Marche where you can buy ingredients from 40,000 such as ginger, which is the most produced in Japan, fresh vegetables from the local area, and Shimanto pork. We will hold an early morning event with an early morning sauna that you can enjoy while enjoying the morning mist.

Even in the recent boom in saunas, outdoor saunas, where you can feel the fusion with nature, are attracting particular attention.

At this event, you can use the Shimanto River, which is said to be the “last clear stream in Japan”, as a water bath while being healed by the scent of Shimanto cypress. We have realized a luxurious outdoor sauna that can only be experienced here in the world, and we expect that many tourists will come to this experience not only from domestic sauna lovers but also from overseas.

Also, before the official start from December 4th (Friday). On November 13th (Friday), we are planning to hold a pre-experience event inviting people from Shimanto Town. By incorporating the opinions and ideas of the local people, we aim to make efforts that are loved and enjoyed not only by tourists but also by locals and neighboring areas such as Shimanto Town.

“Complete local production for local consumption” is an important theme in “Shimanto River Outdoor Sauna”. Shimanto cypress is used as the construction material for the sauna facility, and the scraps produced during sawing of cypress are used as fuel for the sauna.

In addition, as a facility operator, local governments participate in regional revitalization cooperation teams and local NPO corporations. When we hold a workshop where families can participate with their children, we will actively manage it by utilizing local human resources such as woodworkers and nursery teachers.

In addition, Shimanto Townspeople will manage the Marche and provide foodstuffs, and through complete local production for local consumption efforts that make the most of Shimanto’s tourism resources, the region will unite to attract tourists to Shimanto Town and revitalize the town. I would like to aim for the conversion.

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
